Revised Universal Standards come into effect from 1 January .

Sustainability reporting standards set the highest level of transparency for impacts on the economy, environment and people.

On the 1st January, 2023, the Universal Standards 2021 become effective – moving to full adoption stage - meaning all GRI reporters will be required to use these key standards for information published on or after this date.

The revision of the Universal Standards marked the most important update to the GRI Standards since their launch six years ago.

When the Universal Standards 2021 take effect on 1 January, the 2016 version will be withdrawn and no longer available for download.
